At Gardens for Living Inc we have watched
and adjusted as the winters bring less snow and the summers bring more heat. We
have adjusted our plant choices to suit the warming seasons. Global warming is
very relevant and real to us. We are
always focused on preserving the environment and reducing our footprint on the
earth. Through our environmental
policies, we at GFL are striving to become a greener company. We are working hard to reduce our emissions and make
the environment a better place for everyone.
GFL is dedicated to leaving a minimal
footprint on the environment. All GFL playgrounds are designed to reduce
construction waste. Whatever waste remains is separated and recycled. All cedar
waste is stored at GFL and made into mulch at the end of the season.
Our office staff has made it their mission
to reduce the materials we use, to use only the least toxic, post consumer
products available, and to recycle 90% or more of the waste that we produce. It
is our goal to reduce our non-recyclable waste to zero. Our office has
been insulated to R30 to reduce our heating and cooling energy consumption and
all of the windows and doors have been purchased from Habitat for Humanity's ReStor.
